What can we do?

It can feel despairing, overwhelming and powerless to read the news and to feel like you aren’t able to DO anything to change or help what’s happening on the planet.

You may feel like donating money or supplies isn’t enough.  Your heart is hurting for the world every time you read the news.

I want to share something with you that I hope will inspire you to feel more aligned and empowered in the face of the turbulent energies we’re experiencing on the planet.

You have the power to add to the creation of sustainability and peace in the world and you play a vital role in healing the planet.

We are facing some powerful challenges on this planet and the past two weeks on this planet has opened our eyes to the immediacy of what’s potentially facing us if we don’t engineer some innovative solutions.

Besides the basic things like shelter, water, food and access to healthcare, which of course are VITAL for people, the world needs two very important things that you can give it:

  1. Creativity
  2. Sustainability

Over the next couple of days I want to break these two things down for you and explain them in greater depth because I believe that what I am sharing with you is the most important thing for you to understand right now.

Creativity is a word that terrifies many of us.  We associate “creativity” with artistic ability or expressive capacities.  Some of you may even have memories of feeling like you weren’t “good at art” or other such nonsense…

Creativity is the ability to find solutions.

When you pack your kids lunch, you are being creative.  When you get a stain out of your shirt, you are being creative.  When you find a new way to get to work that avoids traffic, you are being creative.  When you find new ways to communicate with your loved ones that is more respectful and honoring, you are being creative.  When you discover ways to empower yourself and grow in your self-esteem, you are being creative.

You get the point.

You are creating each and every second of your existence.

You ARE creative.

There are two kinds of creativity:

  1. Situational Creativity
  2. Fundamental Creativity

Situational Creativity is:

  • In the moment
  • Reactive
  • Determined by your conditioning (your beliefs, your experiences, your epigenetic lineage, your Human Design, etc.)
  • Offers short term solutions
  • Finite – comes from the conditioned mind
  • The result of “thinking” and reasoning” (The Mind)
  • “reasonable”

Situational creativity is limited to what we think is probable and possible.  It’s also based on what we believe is true and rooted in our past experiences.  It does not allow us to be open to new solutions and innovations because it’s very limited and reactive.

Let’s look at an example of situational creativity.  Let’s say that you have a consistent struggle with money in your life.  Maybe you have a pattern where every time you make extra money, something happens to wipe out any extra money you may have made.  (Maybe your car broke down or you got an unexpected tax bill…)

That repeated pattern conditions you to expect that any time you have extra money, something bad will happen to cause you to lose your extra money.  In response to this conditioning you create a situationally creative response – you immediately spend the extra money so that you don’t “lose” it again.   You don’t save your extra money or invest in building a financial foundation.   You also lose your trust in abundance and financial prosperity.

When faced with the seemingly overwhelming challenges on the planet right now, it’s easy for us to fall into situationally creative responses.  We have been told by the media, in movies and even by scientists that we are doomed, that climate change will decimate the planet and many people will starve and struggle….

Our media, and even the entertainment industry, salivate over stories of destruction and movies about post-apocalyptic worlds.  We are conditioned to think that our situation is “impossible” and that there is nothing we can do about it. We react with fear, despair and even fail to take action because we think it won’t actually help anyway…

Let me just remind you that there was once a time when people thought it was “impossible” to go to the moon or prevent diseases like polio.

The creative solutions to polio or to getting to the moon, didn’t happen until people began to believe it was possible.

The very first and MOST important thing that we can do right now from the comfort of our homes is to begin to shift our beliefs about what we think is possible.  (And then, of course, take inspired action!)

The second kind of creativity called Fundamental Creativity:

  • Transcends conditioning
  • Usually arrives in the form of an epiphany (“Ah-ha!”)
  • Comes from the Quantum Field and is unlimited by our finite minds
  • Is imaginative and possibility oriented
  • Aligns with Cosmic Order (in other words it’s aligned with LOVE)
  • Is “un-reasonable”

Fundamental Creativity has given us things like electricity, the capacity to go to the moon, combustion engines and more!

We are designed to tap into evolutionary fundamental creativity.  It’s our nature and part of our hard-wiring.  But our training in life has taught is to experience creativity only within the limits of what we think is possible and that, if we want to creative something new, we have to “figure it out”.

Think about this for a minute.  How many times have you struggled and wrestled with a problem and then suddenly had an epiphany in the shower after weeks of worry, stress and contorting and twisting your brain?

Shower epiphanies are experiences of Fundamental Creativity.

If we’re going to solve the challenges of the world we have to do two things.  We have to shift what we believe is possible and we have to deepen our capacity to become more fundamentally creative.

To become more fundamentally creative and to be ready to receive the creative “sparks” that will give us the solutions to creating a sustainable and peaceful world we have to:

  1. De-Condition ourselves.  (We have to release pain, trauma and change our epigenetic programming that keep us from believing in seemingly impossible solutions.)
  2. Know who we are. Self-knowledge and self-awareness is the best defense against getting caught up in the Group Mindset of lack, despair and the idea of “impossible”

Our brains give us our best ideas when:

  1. A lot of dopamine is released in our brains. Triggers like exercising, listening to music, and, yes, taking a warm shower, contribute to increased dopamine flow.
  2. We’re relaxed. When we have a relaxed state of mind, we’re more likely to turn attention inwards, able to make insightful connections. We’ve seen before how being drunk and sleepy are great for creativity.
  3. We’re distracted. Distraction gives our brains a break so our subconscious can work on a problem more creatively. (This is similar to John Cleese’s advice to let your ideas bake.)

A dopamine high, relaxed state, and distracted mind: No wonder great ideas happen in the shower.

In other words,  taking care of yourself, staying connected to beauty, well-being, truth, love and other archetypes that are more aligned with creativity and managing stress will actually support you in finding solutions to change the world.

You have within you the capacity to generate an innumerable number of possible solutions to helping the world.  But you can’t access these solutions if you’re reacting from a conditioned place or if you’re freaked out, worried or feeling despair.

Your creative response to life increases when you are living a life that is aligned with your authentic self and when you are taking care of yourself.  It’s from that place that you are able to serve the world better.

In the name of helping you unleash your creative capacity to make this world an even better place and to help the survivors of Hurricane Harvey, I’m creating a brand new Introduction to Human Design program for you that will explain the parts of the charts, their esoteric origins, help you deepen your understanding of your Human Design Type and explain your profile and the nine Centers.

In addition to giving you 13 online video trainings and exercises to help you understand your Human Design chart, I’m also hosting an all-day Human Design chart “read-a-thon”.  During this live online event that you can attend from the comfort of your home, I will spend the day sharing new information with you and look at your Human Design charts and give you mini-readings that will deepen your connection to your Life and Soul Purpose.  I’ll also answer any Human Design question that you have about anything in your chart.

This is your chance to learn more about yourself, your Life Path, your Human Design and how you can fully activate your potential.

The cost?  It’s up to you.  I’m offering this program on a donation basis.  The suggested donation is $147 but you may pay whatever feels right in your heart.

In addition, all profits from this event will be donated direction to the Houston Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund.  This is a fund that has been created by the City of Houston and all proceeds go to the people affected by Hurricane Harvey.

Thank you for your generosity.  Thank you for your desire to make the world a better place.  Thank you for being YOU!  The world is what it is today because you’re in it and I’m grateful to share the planet with you!
